To book an appointment at Crocus Medical Practice with a GP, please use the e-Consult service (link below). Once submitted please make sure you have access to the telephone that has been recorded on your e-consult as this is what the practice will use to contact you.
Once you have submitted your e-consult our triaging team may feelt it necessary for you to have an urgent same day appointment. If we do not reach you by telephone after TWO attempts, you will need to submit a new e-Consult.
If our triage team feel that you need to be seen for a routine appointment we will contact you within 3 working days.
Please can we kindly ask all patients to avoid submitting multiple e-Consults in one day. You can put everyting in one e-Consults
We operate a 10 minute appointment system for consultations with the doctors and practice nurses and whilst every effort is made to keep to these times some consultations may take longer. Please be understanding if you are kept waiting.
The practice nurses are able to deal with many minor illnesses and other services as you can see on the Clinics & Services page. Please make an appointment with the nurse if appropriate.
Children under the age of 16 should normally be accompanied by a responsible adult. However, If the doctor considers them to be mature enough to understand the diagnosis and treatment they can be seen alone.
If you would like a chaperone to be present during your consultation with a doctor or any other health professional you may be consulting at the surgery ( or if you would prefer to be examined by a doctor of the same sex as yourself) please let us know and we will do our best to comply with your wishes. In certain circumstances, to avoid any misunderstanding, your doctor may wish to have a chaperone present during your consultation.
You should only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Please telephone reception before 10:30 if you require a home visit and give the receptionist brief details in order that visits can be prioritised.
A doctor may then telephone you to assess your request before visiting. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear in mind that a home visit takes up much more of the doctor's time than a surgery consultation.
You may be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You will also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.
There is a cancellation option on the phone line to cancel an appointment.
